Capital Group launches global bond fund

Capital Group has launched a global bond fund that is managed by four portfolio managers and aims for diversification through tapping into different parts of the fixed income markets.

The Capital Group Global Total Return Bond Fund (Lux) invests in a range of bonds but mainly in investment grade bonds and high yield bonds of governmental, supranational and corporate issuers.

Capital says the fund addresses issues of persistent low interest rates and continued expectations of low global growth by being designed to provide investors with an attractive total return without the requirement to increase volatility.

The strategy is managed by three global portfolio managers and one specialist high yield portfolio manager, providing diversification across the global fixed income opportunity set.

Jeremy Cunningham, fixed income investment director, Capital Group, said: “Diversifying by segment and geography and staying active will be imperative, which is why we have designed a strategy like GTRB to benefit investors over different market environments.”
