Capital Group appoints ESG head

Capital Group has appointed Jessica Ground as global head of ESG, a newly created position.

Ground was previously at Schroders for over 20 years, most recently as global head of stewardship.

Based in London, she will work with various teams including investment groups and technology to develop the firm’s ESG – or environmental, social and governance – processes.

At Schroders, Ground also worked as a fund manager on the UK equity team, originally joining the firm in 1997 as a financial and utilities research analyst.

Rob Lovelace, vice chairman, Capital Group, said: “ESG is an area of great strategic importance for us and our clients, and we will continue to invest resources to it.”
