Candriam promotes Van de Maele

Candriam Investors Group, the European asset management firm owned by New York Life Investment Management, has promoted Koen Van de Maele to global head of investment solutions and member of the executive committee.

In the newly created role, Van der Maele will report to Candriam’s CEO Naïm Abou-Jaoudé.

Van de Maele, who has been at the company for over 16 years, is in charge of the design of investment solutions, periodic product portfolio review and product innovation, as well as the development, under the IndexIQ brand, of the European ETF Capital Markets.

He began his career as quantitative fixed income analyst at Dexia Asset Management in 2001. Dexia AM was the forerunner of Candriam.  In 2007 der Maele was appointed deputy global head of fixed income and in 2009 he became global head.

Naïm Abou-Jaoudé said: “Investors are looking for customised investment advice to meet their specific needs in a continuously evolving market context. Through our investment solutions department, we want to further expand our tailored offering to meet the various needs of all of our clients.”

Candriam had €108 billion in assets under management at the end of June 2017.
