Candriam ETFs to combine ESG and smart beta

Brussels-based asset manager Candriam is to launch a range of ETF strategies that combine smart beta with responsible investing.

Candriam, which manages about €107.2 billion, will list the ETFs on the Paris Euronext Stock Exchange and cross-list them on the Amsterdam exchange.

The ETFs are currently registered in Luxembourg, the Netherlands and France.

Koen Van De Maele, deputy CIO of Candriam, said the ETFs combined two long-term investment developments: socially responsible investment and factor investing.

“We strongly believe that by combining both environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria with specific factor tilts we can achieve better risk-adjusted returns for our clients,” he said.
