Julie Gerdeman has been appointed by global custodian BNY Mellon as its global head of data and analytics.
Gerdeman will be responsible for heading up the global custodian’s data management business.
She will report to Akash Shah, chief growth officer at BNY Mellon.

She joins from Everstream Analytics where she was CEO. Her previous experience includes a number of senior roles at both financial institutions such as JP Morgan and American Express as well as software firms like SAP Ariba and HealthPay24.
Like other asset servicers, BNY Mellon has looked to monetise the huge amount of data that it holds on its platform, data which the firm estimates is worth nearly US$47 trillion.
