AXA Investment Managers has appointed Laurent Caillot as global chief operating officer (GCOO), effective September 1.
In the role of GCOO, Caillot will oversee project management, security, procurement, facilities and innovation, in addition to his current responsibilities in technology, operations and data management.
He took on the role of global head of technology in 2019 and AXA later expanded on it to include operations in 2020. He has also been the chairman of the board of directors since 2021.
Before joining AXA IM, Caillot served as executive director of JP Morgan Chase, a role he held for five years. Prior to this, he was a director of Barclays Investment Bank.
Caillot will be a member of the AXA IM management board and report to Marco Morelli, executive chairman of AXA IM.
Morelli said: “I am delighted to welcome Laurent as a member of the management board, and I look forward to our enhanced and close collaboration.”
Outgoing GCOO Godefroy de Colombe will pursue a career in a different professional sector.
Morelli added: “Godefroy has supported AXA’s development for the last 15 years in many different roles and I would like to warmly thank him for his contribution, not only to AXA IM in recent years, but also to AXA more broadly.
The appointment follows AXA IM’s double hiring of a portfolio manager and a solutions strategist in mid-June for its global credit team.
