Aubrey Capital Management appoints operations and compliance head

Edinburgh-based specialist fund management firm Aubrey Capital Management has appointed Andrew Ward as its chief operating officer and chief compliance officer.

Ward was previously at First State Investments where he spent more than six years.

He was initially part of the Europe, Middle East and Africa distribution team before being promoted to head of the stewart investors institutional client team, which is a separate division of the firm.

He was then chief of staff, working with the chief executive across all aspects of the business.

Between 1992 and 2012, Ward served as an officer in the British Army, seeing active service in locations around the globe, interspersed with policy and planning roles in the Ministry of Defence and the Army’s Headquarters.

Aubrey Capital Management is a specialist investment manager with a focus on “global conviction” funds.
