Artemis fund aims for short maturity high yield

UK-based Artemis has launched a fixed income high yield Ucits bond fund managed by the fixed income team that joined from rival Kames Capital earlier this year.

Currently only available to UK investors, plans are in the pipeline to open registrations across Europe in due course.

This is the first fund for the former Kames employees at the firm.

“While areas of the fixed income market offer yields below inflation, short maturity high yield corporate bonds are the mainstay of this new fund,” said co-manager David Ennett. “They provide yields which normally exceed inflation.”

The Artemis Short-Dated Global High Yield Bond is a sub-fund of the Artemis Funds (Lux) umbrella.

It will also be managed by Stephen Baines, with support from Juan Valenzuela and, further down the line, Jack Holmes and Stephen Snowden.

Artemis has around €31 billion in assets under management with funds available in Europe, as well as Singapore.
