American Century Investments has named Sarah Bratton Hughes as its senior vice president and head of ESG and sustainable investing as part of a plan to accelerate its sustainable investing efforts.
She will be responsible for driving and implementing American Century’s sustainable investing strategy as well as the management of its ESG research platform and active ownership practices.
Working alongside the ESG and Investment Stewardship team, Bratton Hughes will serve as the lead of ESG for all of American Century’s investment teams.
Responsibilities include ESG research and training, innovative ESG assessment tools and managing the ESG engagement and proxy voting protocol.
Prior to American Century, she was the global head of sustainability solutions at Schroders where she was responsible for delivery innovative and best-in-class sustainability solutions to clients globally.
At Schroders, she had also held positions as head of sustainability for North America and as an investment director and previously worked for J.P. Morgan Asset Management and JPMorgan Chase.
