VanEck appoints former State Street man for German push

VanEck has hired Florian Körner as director of sales and business development in Germany. He takes over from Michael Geister who was appointed head of crypto ETP at crypto specialist Iconic Holding earlier in the year.

Reporting to Philipp Schlegel, regional co-head of sales, Körner will be responsible for VanEck’s institutional growth strategy in Germany and Austria. He will be based in Frankfurt.

Prior to joining VanEck, Körner was vice president at State Street Global Advisors. Before that he was senior sales manager at Man Group.

He has also held roles at UBS, Deutsche Bank, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Martijn Rozemuller, CEO of VanEck in Europe, said the fund manager has seen inflows of nearly $2 billion to date this year. According to Morningstar, Rozemuller highlighted, VanEck is now one of the 20 largest ETP providers in Europe with assets under management of around $6 billion.

“We want to continue on this course,” he said, adding that Körner will support the firm’s development in Germany and Austria.
