Fund manager Vanguard has launched an ESG exchange-traded fund designed to serve as a building block for ESG-aware portfolios.
The Vanguard ESG Global All Cap Ucits ETF – the latest fund in its ESG range – seeks to track FTSE’s Global All Cap Choice Index, which applies criteria to exclude companies involved in areas such as weapons, non-renewable energy, and “vice” products.
The ETF is said to provide broad diversification while incorporating “robust” screening based on ESG criteria. The fund has an ongoing charges figure of 0.24%.
Vanguard’s head of ESG strategy for the UK and Europe, Fong Yee Chan, highlighted that clients have a range of environmental and social concerns.
“Many want to put their money to work in a way that enables them to mitigate certain ESG-related risks, aligns with their values, and meets their investment goals,” she said.
The fund will be managed by Vanguard’s Equity Index Group, which manages more than $4.8 trillion (€4.06 trillion) in assets across the globe.
