Neuberger launches equity funds with new team

Neuberger Berman is launching two sustainable equity funds managed by portfolio managers hired from NN Investment Partners in November 2020.

Hendrik-Jan Boer, Alex Zuiderwijk and Jeroen Brand will manage the Global Sustainable Equity and European Sustainable Equity funds.

The firm says the three were early adopters of ESG investing and will implement a “proven investment philosophy and process honed over 16 years”.

The team previously managed over $10 billion in global and European equity strategies.

Each fund will typically hold 30-60 stocks and invest in companies where sustainability “reinforces returns”. An ‘active share’ greater than 75% is sought by the managers.

Boer said more than 80% of Neuberger’s total assets under management were now ESG integrated, up from 60% in 2019.
