Gillian Watson named Martin Currie chair as Gaskell steps down

Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust has named Gillian Watson as chair, taking over from Neil Gaskell who steps down following nine years in the role.

Watson, currently senior managing director at boutique advisory firm Noble & Co, has been a non-executive director of the trust since 2013. She holds various other non-executive director positions.

Under Gaskell, the company saw its assets grow to over £300 million.

Gaskell said: “The trust has gone from strength to strength and, through continual improvement, we have built a world-class investment proposition that is increasingly recognised as a leader in many respects, not least ESG.”
