The real assets arm of Axa Investment Managers has started building a “flagship” office in Munich that it claims responds to major shifts in working and living patterns.
Designed by KSP Jürgen Engel Architekten, the building responds directly to major shifts caused by cultural, demographic and technological advances in the world of work, according to Axa IM.
Sustainability and wellbeing are said to be main priorities for the development, as the firm works to ensure that the office is “future-proofed and aligned with how the next generation wants to live and work”.
Expected to be completed by 2022, the complex will comprise around 55,000 sqm of office space across two buildings of up to eight storeys.
The office blocks, named The Mark, are part of the firm’s ongoing strategy to undertake “large scale and high-profile” developments in major cities across Europe.
Germain Aunidas, head of European development at Axa IM – Real Assets, said: “While the world currently faces a challenging economic backdrop, we remain firm believers in the long-term strength of the Munich office market.”
To carry out the project, Axa IM-Real Assets has mandated German firm FOM Real Estate GmbH Heidelberg.
