M&G hires portfolio manager

London-based M&G Investments has appointed Vincent Charles-Gervais as portfolio manager within its asset-backed securities (“ABS”) team.

With 15 years’ experience in structured and alternative credit, Charles-Gervais joins from ICG where he was a portfolio manager for ICG Alternative Credit.

Prior to that he held research and structuring roles at Zais Group, Lehman Brothers and AXA IM.

Based in London, Charles-Gervais will report to James King, head of ABS portfolio management at M&G. He replaces Patrick Janssen who is now focusing on origination in the Benelux region for M&G’s Alternative Credit team.

Said King: “Vincent’s many years of experience investing in ABS markets will be invaluable to meet the growing demand for the asset class. Our pension fund and other institutional clients continue to seek the attractive levels of yield and security that ABS offers.”
