SPDR ETF has new Europe head

Matteo Andreetto (pictured) has been appointed as the head of State Street Global Advisors’ exchange-traded fund (ETF) business in Europe.

Andreetto’s position starts with immediate effect and covers Europe, Middle East and Africa (Emea) for the SPDR ETF brand.

He reports to Rory Tobin, who previously held the Emea role but is now global head of SPDR ETF.

Andreetto joined SPDR ETF from Stoxx, part of Deutsche Börse Group, where most recently he was chief executive officer and head of index services.

“SPDR is the creator of the world’s first ETFs and I look forward to working with clients and colleagues to build on that proud heritage of investment innovation,” Andreetto said.
