Axa IM appoints fund manager to UK equities team

Axa Investment Managers has appointed Simon Young as fund manager within its UK equities team.

In his new position Young will manage the AXA Framlington Blue Chip Equity Income Fund and also contribute to the UK equity team’s research efforts.

The appointment will allow the current manager of the Blue Chip Equity Income Fund, Jamie Forbes-Wilson, to focus on AXA distribution funds that he has been managing since February 2016.

Young joins AXA IM from Heartwood Partners, an investor relations consultancy. He has over 20 years of fund management experience, having previously worked at Aviva Investors and BlackRock.

Rob Bailey, Axa IM’s head of UK wholesale distribution, said: “This hire will help grow our assets further in the UK equity income space, with Simon working closely with George Luckraft on our successful UK equity income range.”
