Fidelity hires sustainable investments head

Fidelity International has appointed Michael Gibb to the newly created role of head of stewardship and sustainable investing.

A former Asian equities portfolio manager, Gibb joins Fidelity after completing an MBA at the University of Edinburgh Business School. Before that he was executive director Asia Pacific at Martin Currie.

Gibb will oversee Fidelity’s strategy and policies on engagement and voting, and the integration of environmental, social and governance criteria across the firm’s active product range.

He will report to Paras Anand, chief investment officer in Europe for equities, who said Fidelity continued to identify and engage with companies on a range of factors that influence their sustainability.

Fidelity International has €269.3 billion in assets under management.
