Jupiter appoints head of governance research

Jupiter Asset Management has appointed Ash Ray as head of governance research.

In the newly-created role Ray will lead a team of governance analysts providing research and guidance on regulatory requirements and best practice, and focusing on the firm’s engagement priorities for the fund management teams.

He will also broaden the team’s work across all geographies and asset classes, including Japan, India and fixed income, assisting Jupiter’s fund managers in their role as stewards of client assets.

Ray, who has worked in Jupiter’s governance team for ten years, will report to Stephen Pearson, chief investment officer and chairman of Jupiter’s stewardship committee.
