SEI appoints defined-contribution managing director

New York-listed outsourced management provider SEI has appointed Steve Charlton to the newly created role of defined-contribution managing director for Europe, the Middle East, Africa (Emea) and Asia.

Charlton, who will be based in the UK, brings over 30 years of experience in the pensions industry and is a recognised defined-contribution industry specialist.

He joins SEI from Vanguard where he was European defined-contribution proposition manager.

Patrick Disney, managing director of SEI’s institutional business (Emea & Asia) said: “We are confident that Steve will help us to build on our existing success in the defined-contribution market in the UK as well as exploring new markets for our proposition.”

SEI manages, advises or administers $845 billion (€724 billion) in hedge, private equity, mutual fund and pooled or separately managed assets.
