Pacific AM launches EM fund

Pacific Asset Management (PAM) is to launch an emerging markets fund following the deal it struck with North of South Capital earlier this year to become a partner.

The Pacific North of South EM All Cap Equity fund will be managed by North of South, a UK firm founded in 2004 by Mark Linsey.

PAM is part of the Pacific Investment Group, which founded fund managers including the UK’s Thames River Capital and Liontrust.

PAM also said it had hired Paul McLernon, of Pensato Capital, as its chief operating officer starting in November and Ben Sears as head of UK adviser strategy.

Sears joined in September from Shore Capital Group and has previously worked with PAM’s chief executive, Matthew Lamb, at fund manager GAM.
