Lux/London providers make senior digital appointments

Appointments at two separate support firms reflect the growing investment in digital by asset managers and their providers.

Kneip, a Luxembourg-based provider of fund reporting, has hired a former Skype senior manager, while asset management consultancy Alpha FMC, which is based in London, has expanded its digital practice with an expert from the insurance sector.

Kneip has also appointed Jean-Baptiste Douville de Franssu, a former head of Invesco, Europe, to its board.

Michael Jackson, who also joins Kneip as a board member, is the former chief operations officer of Skype and it is the second senior appointment that the firm has made of a former Skype executive. In January Kneip announced the appointment of Neil Ward.

In London, Alpha FMC has hired Kevin O’Shaughnessy as director and head of digital.

O’Shaughnessy was previously a Partner at PA Consulting where he led the financial services digital business and broader digital transformation programme. He has also held senior digital roles at Standard Life, GE Capital and Prudential.

“We have seen digital and data developments disrupt and re-shape the banking and insurance markets and now it is the turn of the asset and wealth management sector,” said O’Shaughnessy.
