JP Morgan AM recruits two for ETF business

JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) has expanded its fledgling European ETF business with two hires.

John Adu has become UK head of ETF distribution and Tom Stephens is head of JP Morgan ETF international capital markets.

The two are based in London and report into Byron Lake who was appointed head of international ETFs in March.

Adu joins from Deutsche Bank where he was responsible for cross-asset distribution of alternative, active and passive strategies to UK clients. He also previously worked at Source, another ETF provider.

Stephens joins from Societe Generale’s corporate and investment banking business where he was head of ETF execution sales in Europe. He spent nine year there and previously worked at iShares in the ETF provider’s capital markets team.

Discussing JPMAM’s launch into the European ETF market, the firm’s European head, Mike O’Brien, told Funds Europe that he expected ‘smart beta’ – a strategy that can be delivered in ETF form – to form part of all investment portfolios in a decade.
