LGIM boosts active equity team

Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has hired Nigel Masding as lead manager of its Real Income Builder Fund.

He will report to Nick Hartley, head of inflation plus strategies within LGIM’s active equities team.

Masding joins from Longview Partners, where he was a partner and global equities research analyst.

His appointment follows that of Stephen Message to the active equity team earlier this month.

Message was previously at Old Mutual Global Investors, where he managed the Old Mutual UK Equity Income Fund.

The L&G Real Income Builder Fund was launched in January 2015. It aims to generate an income that grows by 4% more than UK inflation per annum and a total return of 4% more than UK inflation per annum if the income is reinvested.
