Russell Investments poaches Julian Brown from BlackRock

Seattle-based investment house Russell Investments has appointed Julian Brown to lead the firm’s UK consultant relations team.

In the newly-created director role, to be based in London, Brown will report to Jim Leggate, Russell’s head of UK institutional and Middle East businesses.

Brown joins from BlackRock, where he was head of UK consultant relations. He previously held various posts at JLT Investment Consultants and has also worked as an investment officer for a local authority pension fund in the UK.

Leggate said: “Julian’s longstanding relationship with the UK pension fund and Investment Consultant community will allow us to build upon the growth of our institutional business in the UK.”

At the end of March, Russell Investments had more than $266 billion (€245 billion) in assets under management.
