Invesco creates UK insurance role

Invesco has appointed Ed Collinge as head of its UK insurance team – a new role as Invesco focuses more effort on selling solutions to insurers that face low yields and a decline in annuity business.

Based in London, Collinge joins from JP Morgan Asset Management where he was executive director of the firm’s global insurance division for four years.

He reports to Hugh Ferrand, head of UK institutional sales and services, and Collinge will also work closely with Invesco teams across Europe, with the emphasis on Benelux and Nordic regions

Collinge has previously worked in insurance-sector roles at Legal & General, Lehman Brothers, and Dresdner Kleinwort.

Ferrand said: “Many insurance companies are reviewing their investment portfolios due to the impact of challenges such as low yields, regulatory and reporting requirements, technological advances driving change, and the decline of annuities.”
