BNP Paribas SS poaches Hayes from State Street

BNP Paribas Securities Services has appointed Patrick Hayes as head of the UK, Middle East and South Africa. Hayes replaces James McAleenan, who is retiring from the industry.

Hayes has been with State Street for over 25 years and most recently worked as managing director of State Street’s international fund services division in Europe. He also held the role of head of global markets operations.

As multinational head, Hayes will be tasked with managing BNP Paribas’ securities services across the stated regions, helping drive the bank’s expansion plans.

The new role commences at the end of June and Hayes will report to José Placido, global head of client development.

As of December 31, 2015, BNP Paribas Securities Services had $8.95 trillion (€7.9 trillion) assets under custody.
