Enrico Letta, former Italy PM, joins Amundi advisory board

Paris-based Amundi has created a panel of experts drawn from politics and business in a move that resembles a similar initiative by Pimco last year.

The Amundi Global Advisory Board will advise on how global economic, political and strategic developments impact financial markets.

The board is chaired by Hubert Védrine, former foreign affairs minister of France.

Dame Helen Alexander, former president of the Confederation of British Industry, joins Sir Simon Fraser, former permanent secretary at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and Enrico Letta, former prime minister of Italy for just under a year, as a member.

The other members are Maurice Levy, chairman and chief executive, Publicis Groupe; Patrick Ponsolle, former vice-chairman of Morgan Stanley International; Dr Jurgen Stark, former member of the executive board and the governing council of the European Central Bank; Isabel Tocino Biscarolasaga, former Minister of the Environment in Spain; and Tatsuo Yamasaki, former vice minister of Finance, Japan.

Amundi says the board will meet several times a year.
