State Street appoints Swiss ETF head

SwitzerlandState Street Global Advisors (SSGA) has appointed Bernhard Wenger, as head of SPDR ETFs in Switzerland.

Wenger will be responsible for business development and sales of SPDR ETFs in country. State Street listed 16 ETFs on the SIX Swiss Exchange last year.

He joins SSGA from ETF Securities, where he worked for five years, most recently as head of European distribution. Wenger previously held senior roles at Morgan Stanley, HSBC and BNP Paribas.

SSGA is one of the largest ETF providers in the world, with 78 ETFs available to European investors (66 of which are available via the SIX exchange), and assets of €12.5 billion under management.
