LGIM Real Assets appoints former Schroders fund manager

Legal & General Investment Management’s real estate and infrastructure arm, LGIM Real Assets, has appointed Tony Doherty as head of product development in its business development team.

He will oversee product structuring and fund launches across the wider real assets division of LGIM, alongside providing equity raising support for LGIM’s specialist property funds and the execution of indirect transactions.

Prior to joining LGIM Real Assets, he was a fund manager in the indirect real estate space at Schroders.

Doherty takes over from Dan Batterton who has moved into the new role of ‘build to rent’ fund manager – a position through which he is now dedicated to shaping and structuring L&G’s institutional offering in the Build to Rent space.

Charlie Walker, director of business development, says: “As we continue to move into new areas, Dan’s leadership of our Build to Rent Fund is the start of more announcements in this area in the months to come.”

LGIM Real Assets manages £717 billion in assets.
