European investment and private bank has hired Kallum Pickering as its senior UK economist.
Pickering will lead on UK macroeconomic commentary and analysis, working with Berenberg’s chief economist, Dr Holger Schmieding, in London.
Pickering joins Berenberg from BNP Paribas where he worked as an economist focusing on UK, Ireland and Nordic macro and real estate. Previously, he was senior economist at The Construction Products Association, providing expert analysis on the UK economy and construction sector to leading global industry players.
Pickering’s appointment further bolsters Berenberg’s global team, following the recent hires of Dr Mickey Levy as chief US and Asia economist in New York, and Dr Manfred Schlumberger as chief investment officer in Frankfurt.
David Mortlock, head of Berenberg UK, says: “Kallum’s appointment underlines our continued commitment to providing our clients with high quality economic analysis to guide their investment decisions globally.”
