Old Mutual Global Investors expands into Switzerland

Old Mutual Global Investors (Old Mutual) has launched a Swiss office in Zurich, as it continues to build up its European presence since its formation in 2012.

The firm has hired Dominik Issler as head of Dach distribution, covering Germany, Austria and now Switzerland, where he will be based.

With the appointment of Issler, Old Mutual will service the major global financial institutions, wealth managers, private banks, family offices and pension funds in the region. The firm now manages €3 billion for clients in Europe.

Issler joins the firm from Legg Mason-owned Martin Currie Investment Management where he was director and regional head based in Switzerland from 2010. Prior to Martin Currie, Issler was chief executive officer in Switzerland for ABN AMRO Asset Management. In his role at Old Mutual, he will be reporting to Allan MacLeod, head of international distribution.

“We have ambitious plans to significantly grow our global footprint and we have been taking considerable steps to ensure that we meet these goals,” says Warren Tonkinson, head of global distribution.

“The arrival of Dominik will greatly complement the momentum that we have achieved in Europe.”
