Asset manager Schroders has hired Dan McFetrich as a global sector specialist within the firm’s global and international equities team.
McFetrich will join the firm in April and will be based in London. He assumes global sector responsibility for industrials, drawing on his 14 years of experience as an equity analyst.
In his new role McFetrich replaces Lucretia Tam, who left Schroders in October 2014 to join investment management firm Pimco as senior vice president and an equity analyst focused on industrials.
Prior to joining Schroders, McFetrich’s most recent role was at Fidelity Worldwide Investment, where he worked from 2008 as a senior industrials analyst. Before this position, he worked at British-based investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort (acquired by Commerzbank in 2009) and Nomura Asset Management.
In his new role, McFetrich will work alongside Schroders’ group of seven global sector specialists who provide global sector perspectives and stock recommendations to the team’s portfolio managers.
He will report to Simon Webber, lead portfolio manager for Schroders’ global and international equities team.
This hire follows the appointment of Alex Tedder, who returned to Schroders as head of global and international equities in July 2014. Tedder says that global equities continue to be a priority growth area for Schroders, and the firm will be looking to make additional hires in the near term.
Schroders has £300 billion (€386.6 billion) in assets under management, as at 31 December 2014.
