Virginie Maisonneuve, chief investment officer (CIO) global equities at PIMCO, has been appointed as the first honorary chair to the CFA UK Women’s Network, part of the CFA Society of the UK.
Based in London, Maisonneuve is CIO global equities, managing director, global head of equities and a portfolio manager at PIMCO. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2014, she was head of global and international equities at Schroders.
Previously, she was co-CIO and director at Clay Finlay, the investment manager that went out of business in 2009. She has also held positions as a portfolio manager at State Street Research and Management, Batterymarch Financial Management and active equity specialist, Martin Currie.
Commenting on her new role as part of The Women’s Network, which was established by CFA UK to provide advice and to promote careers in investment to women, Maisonneuve says: “Diversity needs to be addressed at all levels of organisations and the work the CFA UK is doing in support of this is hugely significant across the industry.
“I look forward to working with the men and women of the CFA UK, and the investment industry at large, to promote and facilitate the valuable contribution that women can and do make to the profession.”
Natalie WinterFrost, chairman of the CFA Society of the UK, describes Maisonneuve as “an inspirational role model” for women in the profession, and for those who want to enter it.
