BlackRock has appointed Rachel Lord as head of its exchange-traded fund (ETF) business, iShares, in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
She joins from Citigroup, where Lord was global head of corporate equity derivatives.
Lord will be based in London and become a member of iShares’ Global and Europe, Middle East and Africa executive committees, as well as BlackRock’s global operating committee.
She replaces Joe Linhares, who will return to the US to assume a new role as global head of BlackRock’s Platinum Client programme.
iShares recently announced it will list two ETFs – the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Ucits ETF and the iShares MSCI World Minimum Volatility Ucits ETF – on the Bats Chi-X Europe’s Regulated Market on November 18.
Bats Chi-X Europe is the largest pan-European equities exchange by market share and notional value traded.
