Barings hires two for emerging markets team

Baring Investment Management has hired Staffan Lindfeldt as head of global emerging market equities and Isabelle Alexander as investment manager in the same team, both based in London.

Lindfeldt joins from Handelsbanken Asset Management in Stockholm, where he was chief portfolio manager for global emerging markets since 2006. Lindfeldt will be lead investment manager on several global emerging market portfolios including mutual funds and segregated accounts. He will report to Tim Scholefield, head of equities at Barings.

Alexander, who joins from Pictet, will assist with managing several global emerging market portfolios alongside William Palmer.

In April, Barings said it had appointed Paul Loss as head of operations and in May, it hired Marco Tang for the newly created role of head of sales, client service and business development for mutual fund distribution in Hong Kong, China and Singapore.
