F&C appoints new chief exec

F&C Asset Management has promoted Richard Wilson, head of investment and distribution, to chief executive, pending approval from the Financial Services Authority.

Wilson joined F&C in 2004 as head of European equities. He has also been head of equities, head of investments and head of institutional business at F&C. Prior to joining the firm, he worked for HSBC Asset Management, Deutsche Asset Management and Gartmore Investment Management.

Wilson is due to assume the role on January 1. He will replace Edward Bramson, who will revert to non-executive chairman of the board.

“Richard has played a critical role in the development and execution of the group’s strategy over the last year,” says Bramson. “I look forward to us working together and continuing to build value for all our stakeholders.“
