Man Group appoints finance director

Man Group, the hedge fund company, has appointed a finance director as Kevin Hayes, who has held the position since 2007, leaves.

Jonathan Sorrell, currently Man’s head of strategy and corporate finance, has taken up the role with immediate effect.

Sorrell played a key part in Man’s proposed acquisition of FRM, the firm said. He joined Man in August 2011 after more than a decade at Goldman Sachs.

Hayes is leaving to pursue other professional and personal goals.
