Aviva Investors has made two senior appointments from the ranks of Legal & General Investment Management; Helen Driver as fund manager in its global equities team, and Florian de Chaisemartin as director of its infrastructure debt team.
Driver will focus on identifying high-conviction large-cap global equity ideas for inclusion in both standalone global equity portfolios, and multi-strategy propositions. At LGIM, she was fund manager on the UK Real Income Builder fund.
De Chaisemartin will be charged with originating, structuring and executing infrastructure debt transactions. At LGIM, he was senior investment manager in the firm’s infrastructure division.
His appointment brings the size of the infrastructure debt team to 17. The firm currently manages £3.5 billion (€4.45 billion) of infrastructure debt, with a focus on financing infrastructure assets in Europe.
Recent investments include new trains for Great Northern suburban services, providing indexed linked-debt in support of the acquisition of the transmission link between the Westermost Rough offshore wind farm and the main land, and co-funding the refurbishment and construction of 46 schools in the UK under the government’s Priority School Building Programme.
Aviva manages assets of £290 billion as of December 31 2015.
