Morningstar appoints UK manager research head

Research keyboardMorningstar, a fund ratings provider, has recruited Jonathan Miller as a director of manager research in the UK.

Miller will lead the company’s London-based analysts, conducting research and issuing ratings for about 500 funds.

He joins from financial publisher Citywire, which he joined in 2003 and most recently served as head of research.

Miller replaces Jeremy Beckwith, who left the firm to pursue other opportunities.

It is as yet unknown where Beckwith will head next. Prior to joining Morningstar in 2014, He spent two years as the founding partner and chief investment officer (CIO) of London Wall Partners, five months as interim CIO of Nutmeg, and almost nine years as CIO of Kleinwort Benson.

Globally, Morningstar provides research and Analyst Ratings on approximately 4,000 funds, including around 900 available to UK investors.
