UBP appoints head of US advisory unit

AdvisorGeneva-based Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) has appointed Frédéric Carbonnier as head of its UBP Investment Advisors division, which specialises in US business.

Carbonnier was appointed internally and has almost 30 years of experience in banking. Most recently he worked with US clients and previously spent 12 years working in wealth management in North America.

UBP’s US investment advisory division is an independent branch of UBP. The bank launched it in February 2014 and the unit specialises in the management of investment portfolios for US residents and citizens, and is registered with the US Securities & Exchange Commission.

Assets managed by it are deposited either with UBP or with a different bank chosen by clients.

UBP employs about 1,450 people across 25 locations worldwide and has assets under management of about 110 billion swiss francs (€100 billion).
