Investit hires Schroders’ innovation head for digital role

Digital ageLondon-based investment management consultancy Investit has appointed Marcel Bar, former head of design and innovation at Schroders, to head of the firm’s digital consulting practice.

Marcel Bar will spearhead the firm’s ‘Digital Accelerator’ programme, which assists Investit’s asset management clients with formulating and implementing digital strategies.

Bar has 15 years’ experience in digital strategy, with ten years spent in the investment management sphere.

A 2015 Investit survey revealed 70% of financial services firms are still in the early stages of digital maturity. They struggle to create effective digital strategies and fail to use appropriate technologies.

“Firms are keenly aware of the importance of being investor-centric and providing personalised and timely information to clients. A strong digital program provides the foundation for achieving that objective,” Bar said in a statement.
