T. Rowe Price announces new CEO

T.Rowe Price has appointed a former Fidelity chief executive as its head of global institutional services to replace Todd Ruppert, who retired recently.

Robert Higginbotham takes control of Baltimore-based T. Rowe Price’s business outside of the US.

Higginbotham, whose appointment was announced last week and who starts October 1, previously worked at Fidelity Worldwide Investment in several senior roles, most recently as CEO for the Europe, Middle East & Africa and Latin America regions.

Prior to joining Fidelity, he had a variety of roles at Schroder Investment Management, including global head of product and global marketing director.

Ruppert retired from T. Rowe Price in June after a 27-year career with the firm and plans to concentrate on personal and charitable work.
