Quaero hires Mike Morony

Quaero Capital, a Swiss-based asset manager that recently changed its name from Argos Investment Managers, has hired Mike Morony to increase the firm’s footprint in London.

Morony was most recently senior vice-president at research firm Gerson Lehrman, although he began his career at HSBC. He has held roles at various asset managers, including Municipal Mutual, Threadneedle Investment Management through to Merrill Lynch Investment Management (now part of Blackrock) where he was managing director and head of the North American portfolio management team.

In 2009 he joined Nomura as managing director of its European equity research sales team before joining Gerson Lehrman.

Morony will report to Nick Hamwee who leads Quaero’s UK team.

“Mike’s appointment marks a significant further development of our presence in what is arguably the most important investment market in Europe,” says the firm’s chief executive officer, Jean Keller.
