Unigestion appoints professor to head quant research

Swiss asset manager Unigestion has appointed Robert Kosowski, a finance professor, as head of quantitative research.

Kosowski maintains his role as associate professor of finance at Imperial College Business School in London but has also joined Unigestion’s equity team to take quant investing “to the next level”, according to Alexei Jourovski, head of equity.

Kosowski has over 20 years’ experience in quantitative research and is also a research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research and an associate member of the Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance at Oxford University. He is also a member of the Alternative Investment Management Association’s research committee.

Previously, he Kosowski has consulted for institutional investors and worked at Goldman Sachs, the Boston Consulting Group and Deutsche Bank.

Jourovski said: “With the pace of advancement in this field picking up across the industry, having Robert’s highly sought after expertise in quant finance will provide huge value to our clients.”

Jouovksi added that Unigestion was deeply rooted in research and academia.
