Invesco appoints two to manage liability-aware portfolios

Fund giant Invesco has appointed Ali Zouiten and Derek Steeden to the newly created roles of director, derivatives solutions development, and portfolio manager in the firm’s London-based investment solutions team.

They will be responsible for developing a team to manage liability-aware and multi-asset overlay portfolios, focusing particularly on pensions and insurance clients.

Joining from HSBC Asset Management, Zouiten was head of investments for product development and prior to that he was head of guaranteed business at Baloise Group in Switzerland. He has also headed solutions and managed the product structuring team at Axa.

Steeden joins from Legal & General Investment Management where he managed bonds and derivatives against liability targets. Prior to that he was with State Street Global Advisors as a strategist in a team responsible for liability-aware portfolio management.

According to Mark Humphreys, head of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa client solutions at the firm, their appointments are part of a strategy to build partnerships with regional clients.

Invesco, headquartered in Atlanta in the US, managed $1.2 trillion (€1.07 trillion) of assets as of the end of June this year.
