Jersey-based service provider Crestbridge has hired Gunther Thumann, a former economist for the International Monetary Fund, as a senior adviser to its Jersey management company (ManCo).
Thumann was recently appointed as the chairman of Jersey Finance and has previously worked as chief executive and chairman of the board of Brevan Howard Capital Management.
He holds a doctoral degree in economics and statistics from the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg.
Crestbridge director Elliot Refson said: “Gunther is an immensely respected figure in the industry whose extensive experience working in the hedge fund world will add substantial value to our Jersey ManCo services.”
Crestbridge became one of the first firms in Jersey to be granted a licence by the Jersey Financial Services Commission to offer a ManCo platform.
It was also one of the first to establish a third party ManCo in Luxembourg covering both Ucits and alternative investment funds five years ago.
