VCC: A game-changer for Singapore?

The Variable Capital Company (VCC) is a new corporate structure for all types of collective investment schemes (CIS) in Singapore. It is aimed at global asset managers seeking to establish funds in Singapore and raise investor capital from the APAC region. It covers wide range of traditional and alternative funds using open-ended and closed-ended strategies.

As part of their European Roadshow in November 2019, BNP Paribas arranged for a panel of experts to talk to Funds Europe in Frankfurt. We sat down with the experts in a podcast to look at what the VCC can be used for, the flexibility it offers and why it is potentially of interest to managers worldwide.

The panel also looks at the types of funds that are most likely to adopt the VCC and the advantages it provides for fund managers and asset servicers.

  • Fumin Feng, Deputy Director, Asset Management and Insurance Development Division, Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)
