Standard Life in advanced discussions to buy Ignis

Standard Life has confirmed that it is in exclusive and advanced discussions with Phoenix Group Holdings regarding a potential acquisition of Ignis Asset Management.

“Discussions are ongoing and there can be no certainty that any transaction will be agreed,” the insurer says in a statement, adding that it will make further announcements if and appropriate.

Standard Life is responsible for managing £244 billion (€292.3 billion) of assets.

Ignis Asset Management has £65.6 billion of assets under management and distributes a range of investment services, encompassing equities, fixed income and real estate.
