French asset manager Ossiam is offering its exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on the London Stock Exchange for the first time, starting with four products that track European and US equity indices.
Two ETFs employ “minimum variance” strategies, which are designed to be 30% less volatile than conventionally market weighted products. The other two employ “equal weight” strategies, which prevent the index being skewed towards large companies, as happens within typical market cap weighted indices.
On 1 July, the firm began listing its ETFs on the Borsa Italiana, Italy’s Milan-based stock exchange owned by the London Stock Exchange Group. It is the twentieth company to list ETFs on the group’s exchanges.
Pietro Poletto, head of ETFs at London Stock Exchange Group, said: “Through Ossiam’s new ETFs, investors will have the opportunity to gain exposure to high quality products on an established, liquid platform.”
